What Happened in 2003?
  • Trac became an outstanding sire with the help of his kids: Tiger, True, Erica, Dakota, Tagi and Bianca.
  • Chilly became an outstanding dam with the help of her kids: Tiger, True, Tagi and Seeker.
  • Tiger added three new working titles: Companion dog, Novice Agility and Novice Agility Jumpers. A HUGE thanks to Billy and Dee Dee Anderson who accomplished first place and other placements in their work with Tiger.
  • Seeker became a champion. Seeker was shown very limited and accomplished her championship like a true champion - easily.
  • Tagi became a champion with three majors and is currently producing sound silly kids just like he is.
  • Construction started on the new training site for CANINE COUNTRY CLUB. Read more by clicking on "Training"
  • Honey Bear - the awfully abused Golden Retriever was rescued and Sherwood started a donation fund to help with medical costs.
  • Annie was bred to Monte and produced Buzz
  • True was bred to Vinny and produced Toni
  • The board members of the Golden Retriever Club of America refused to entertain charges against a club member, a multi Sherwood golden owner, for falsifying a heart clearance on her Sherwood dog and offering him for stud. Mediation ceased with the accused refused to submit her dog for a re-evaluation. The OFA is currently investigating the "switching of dogs act" and will hopefully revoke the certificate. As a precaution against further acts of deception Sherwood Goldens has a new puppy/show contract to eliminate these types of people and to protect and preserve the Sherwood name.
  • Erica at age 11 passed a cardiac (OFA) heart test by a Board certified cardiologist who checked her permanent identification before signing the certificate.
  • Chilly at age 10 passed a cardiac (OFA) heart test by a Board certified cardiologist who checked her permanent identification before signing the certificate.
  • Photography by Debi DeNardi is looking forward to its relocation at Canine Country Club. A new professional digital camera was purchased and there are plans to expand the photography line. Walk-ins will be welcome at Canine Country Club to purchase Golden goodies and appointments will be made for dog photography.
  • Sherwood's Annual Halloween Party was a huge hit with the 300 plus pound pumpkin Ken DeNardi found. There were more doggie contestants dressed in costumes than in the past, which brought about enormous laughter to those participating and observing. The weather couldn't of been better. A wonderful day for sure. See "Celebrations" for photos.
  • Liam - Sherwood's Tullamore Dew CD CGC owned by Jen and Ken Workman picked up a few more points including majors to make his championship just a step away. Sherwood is very proud of your accomplishments and we wish you a great big fat CH for 2004!
  • Cairo - attempted to become a father and we won't know for sure until 2004! Cairo puppies are due in 2004. See the litters page.
  • Tiger's semen seems to be "playing a round" as he became a dad in 2003 locally and across the country.
  • Ragtag, Trumpets Surf Candy, a Trac daughter obtained a senior hunter and a working certificate excellent. Ragtag is owned by Charlotte Gaynor.
  • Ruffles, Trumpets Casual Dress, a Tiger daughter obtained a junior hunter, and a novice agility title with all first place awards. Ruffles has two legs towards her CD with placements and two qualifying scores towards Novice Agility jumpers also with placements and one Open Agility score with a first place. Owned by Charlotte Gaynor.
  • Ritzi, Trumpets Near Nuff, a Tagi daughter obtained three junior hunter qualifying scores in a row at 13 months old! Owned by Charlotte Gaynor.
  • The Sherwood Paw Print newsletter is a huge hit. It contains great photographs of Sherwood Golden (copyrighted by the way!) and great articles submitted by owners of Sherwood dogs depicting their doggie adventures. There's a great contest in each issue. Recently Jason Appezzato from Alameda CA won a great prize for being the first person to respond with the correct answer!
LOOKING FORWARD TO A HEALTHY AND SAFE 2004!
December 2002:
  • Erica is an OUSTANDING DAM! Thank you to Vinny, Cairo and Fame for their help.

  • The Winner of the Fall Newsletter Contest was LORI NATHLICH from Oakley CA who correctly answered the question: In the Disney movie "Oliver and Company" what is the name of the cute mutt from New York? The answer: DODGER! Congrats Lori - I hope your dog is enjoying her toy.

  • The 2002 Winner of the Sherwood Annual Halloween Costume Contest was VINNIE! Not the Vinnie you are all thinking. This was a PITBULL named Vinnie. I rescued this cute little Pit Bull while working as a Humane Officer. Vinnie now lives with Randy and Allen in Colma, CA. Look for the Vinnie story in the upcoming issue of Sherwood's Paw Prints Newsletter.

  • "T.J." - Sherwood's Power Paws and "Tagi" - Ch Sherwood's Tribal Council BISS is out gathering up points towards their championships.

  • Congrats to Charlotte Gaynor and her dog, "Ragtag" - SR Trumpet's Surf Candy for obtaining a Junior Hunter Title along with qualifying for the NAHRA Started Dog Brass Band award. With four qualifying scores in one year this qualifies "Ragtag" to participate in the 2003 Regional event. Dam: Trumpet's Skykomish Sunrise. Sire: Ch Birnam Wood's Posi-Traction CD OS.
