Meet MAYNARD AND DAFFNEY
Maynard (we believe) is a Peking duck who like many of his relatives, destiny was a dinner plate or hanging in some Chinese Restaurant’s window. Don’t ask where his feathers go… as its too painful for Maynard to think about.
Instead, Maynard was hand raised from a chick with love and attention and is now a full grown happy healthy duck. Maynard swims daily in his pool, eats grain, snails, egg whites, greens, and an occasional worm. His best friend is not a feathered friend. His best friend is Paul and they spend countless hours hanging out enjoying life together. Maynard and Paul have developed quite a relationship as Maynard quacks and Paul talks with a definite understanding between the two of them. It has been quite a learning experience for the both of them, and it has blossomed into a beautiful bond between animal and human.

And guess what? Maynard is a GIRL! Who knew.

Daffney, also a Peking duck came to us as a youngster too. Daffney is learning how to be a duck and Maynard is the perfect role model teaching her how to swim and “worm.”
Meet SHERWOOD AND PRINCESS
two strays cats who came together after Sherwood was rescued for certain death as an unweaned kitten and Princess who was lucky enough to be an adoptable kitten at a shelter. Sherwood was rescued as he fell through a hole in a roof. Left by his other littermates to die, Sherwood meowed until someone heard - that someone was Debi. Sherwood’s first mother was a rabbit named “Cotton” who has since passed on. Sherwood met Princess and it was love at first sight. The two are inseparable and live life as only two cats could…
Meet BIG BUN AND LIL BUN
two brown rabbits who keep things interesting as they play with certain Sherwood Goldens…Once put into the garden area Big Bun and Lil Bun wait patiently for their furry friends to arrive. Then the games begin… first it’s catch me if you can and it’s not the Goldens chasing the rabbits! Then, it’s a crazy funny game of “tag you’re it” until everyone is completely exhausted running around trees, picnic tables, puppy toys, rabbit toys… then it’s break time for some water, and then nap time. It is amazing to us how these two different animal species communicate and get along so well.
Meet T-BIRD
a Green Cheek Conure who entertains us in a variety of different ways. T-Bird has a big personality, intelligent and interactive. He loves to play and include you in his games. T-Bird is best at picking up plastic cat balls and tossing them into his water as you say “Fetch.” Yes, we have a bird that not only understands the word “Fetch” but can actually do it. T-Bird also dances as he bobs his head up and down to music of all sorts. T-Bird loves attention and likes to be in the center of the house so he doesn’t miss a thing. T-Bird will rat out one of the dogs when he sees them doing something they shouldn’t. T-Bird is a great little alarm system. T-Bird is a great bird!
